IVy Awards Readers’ Choice Official Nominees Ballots
At last! You may now vote for the Readers’ Choice IVy Awards OFFICIAL NOMINEES!
Feel free to vote in as many or as few categories as you choose. You may only vote once for each category. Top five vote-getters will be the official nominees.
Note that to be a nominee, a candidate must receive at least three votes. Each category must ultimately have at least three nominees. If any category receives fewer nominees, that category will be canceled. Wow! Hahaha! Do I ever feel silly for even mentioning this now.
Look here for a discussion of the candidates. Polling closes at 12:00 PST AM on Saturday, March 8, 2008. Thanks for voting!

It’s sad to see NBC cancel Joureyman. The Show could have been out of this world…………..

Journeyman was a great show and deserves to be brought back. What were they thinking?! They should have tried a different time slot or something rather than just cancelling the show.
Tim Dean Said,

Journeyman was the best new show I have seen in over 5 years! It is too bad NBC gave up on it so early. The writing of the storyline and “nugget” you had to pay attention for made this an entertaining, as well as thought provoking show. It is the ONLY show I had to watch every week and the only show the wife and I have watched together in years!

Journeyman was (hopefully is) such a great, innovative show. It’s rare to find a sci-fi show that could appeal to non-fans of the genre without being dumbed down to do it.

Journeyman should come stay with me for a while. Just to try things out. See what happens, you know?
My cousin, USA Network, would be a nice place for Mr. Vasser to stay, as well.
Just my 2 cents.

Hi, everybody.
Wow. That’s a lot of comments. Okay…
To Shawn: Anybody can propose whomever they choose for IVy Awards. Unfortunately, this year, nobody proposed you - although it looks like maybe they should’ve, and I’d certainly agree you’d've been a very viable candidate. There’s no rule against proposing yourself, so next year, if you want to be considered, please join the TV IV and propose yourself or get a friend to do it, and we will certainly be happy to have you on the list of potential nominees.
To Xtine: The Hollywood Foreign Press Association and the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences base their categorization of nominees on how the shows’ producers submit their material for consideration. The TV IV does not receive those submissions, so we have chosen to base our categorization on certain objective standards - how actors are credited in shows’ opening credits, for instance. “Lost” lists its cast in alphabetical order, and as such, everyone in the cast is considered a “supporting” actor or actress for our purposes. (The same would’ve been true for, for instance, “Friends” back when it was on.)
To just about everyone else: The TV IV is not affiliated with NBC Universal nor its subsidiaries and agents, although given that Shawn Spencer and it appears as though someone with the SciFi Channel is apparently reading this blog, maybe someone there is reading it, too, and your outpouring of comments and anger will have an effect. Stranger things have happened on the Internet.
Keep the votes coming, guys. We appreciate your support.

Journeyman deserves to come back to television somewhere! It is, bar none, the best television show that I have ever seen…and I am 50 years young. Let’s keep the drive alive to keep this show on the air, somewhere. It deserves to win this IVy award for best drama last fall. I was disappointed to see that Kevin McKidd was not nominated for best actor in a drama. Can he be added now? Thanks in advance.
Angela Said,

So glad to see Journeyman listed as a possible nomination for best drama series. Thanks TV IV!
I watch, and enjoy, 4 out of the top five best drama series voted on (as of 2/25), but, do feel Journeyman deserves to come out on top. It was prematurely fizzled out by NBC. Hope they (NBC) make the right business decision and bring it back!
Christine Said,

I am thrilled to see that Journeyman is up for a vote here but surprised not to see the amazing Kevin McKidd nominated for it as lead actor? He was outstanding in Rome and then totally switched gears for Journeyman and played an average joe after being a hard core Roman soldier, proving he has great range…He deserves the best actor nomination and I am witholding my vote in that category beacuse he is not listed.
I think Journeyman is an excellent show and hope to see nany more episodes in the very near future. Great actors, stories, location and fan base!

JourneyWoman: No, I’m sorry, but the proposal process has closed for candidates to be nominated. However, for the admin and editor-chosen awards, we can hand out Special Awards, and I’ll be checking these comments here and everybody’s e-mails for suggested Special Awards.
I have to say I’m absolutely bowled over at the response from all you guys. To be honest, this has turned out to be much bigger than I ever in my wildest dreams anticipated, and I think I speak for the entire staff of the TV IV when I say we really appreciate your support. We all hope you’ll come to the TV IV itself (http://www.tviv.org) and contribute to our site.
Also, keep an eye on this here blog for some big announcements regarding this year’s IVy Awards, including the official Nominees list for both Reader’s Choice and Editor’s Choice IVy Awards coming in March, and of course the final winners.
Finally, KEEP VOTING! You still have ten days to get your favorites nominated, and while I’m absolutely thrilled to see some great shows getting lots of votes, I’ll also admit some of my favorites are lagging a little bit. (”Sopranos” and “Dexter” fans, I’m looking at you.) These are the awards YOU get to choose, and thanks again to every last one of you. You folks are the best.

I’m very happy to see Journeyman up for an award on this poll! Journeyman has a huge fan base and we are down but not out! NBC has provided us with QUALITY scripted television programming and they have raised the bar. Excellent storyline, writing, acting, casting, special effects, music, camera work! It’s just ALL GOOD!! The fans are not going away no matter what you do NBC. We are Journeyman Fans Forever and we want Journeyman back in our homes! NBC did a poor job promoting Journeyman and giving it such a bad time slot didn’t help! But, we are forgiving souls. We just want our journey back with Journeyman!!

Journeyman without a doubt deserves to be on the list of nominees! I am so excited to see all of the attention it is getting here!
I too would love to see Kevin McKidd nominated for best actor. He’s extremely versatile in his acting abilities, not to mention that his American accent is absolutely perfect for a Scottish man!
Thanks TV IV for recognizing that shows are nothing without their fans!

Like millions of others I feel Journeyman was never given a fair chance. It was cut short just as it was establishing itself as one of TVs best scripted, best acted and most creative shows. We need more of this kind of quality programing not the usual thoughtless reality and game show garbage we see all too much of today. Bring back Journeyman and give us something worth bothering to watch.

I also am upset to see Journeyman has been dropped by NBC. Makes no sense, Journeyman had a gerat cast as well as a great stoyline. Would LOVE the see another network pick up the show, NBC doesn’t deserve a show of this quality & caliber!

I’ll echo the others in the Journeyman love, and incredulity at NBC once again giving a premature ax (ala Studio 60). Heroes is a poor-man’s Lost, IMO, and Journeyman had the potential to be the next Quantum Leap of sci-fi/time travel series. What a waste.
And yeah, I demand more Psych love as well! The best white man/black man comedy partnership crimefighters since, well ever.

Journeyman was easily the best thing on TV for the entire span of time that it aired. Yes, chalk up another person here who just couldn’t possibly say enough good things about this show–but will try anyway. It was nothing short of excellent when it came to cast, story, dialog, and the entire visual experience. It all made for such a compelling serial that the show’s opening musical sequence sent shivers–every week. And the moment the episode was the very same one that anticipation for the next week’s episode began, lasting until the opening sequence aired once more. I’m certain I speak for everyone here to have mentioned Journeyman when I say that it deserves recognition, praise, and accolades and that we all want to see MORE!

I was kind of surprised about Kevin McKidd not being in the list as well. Of course I guess there can only be so many people listed, but after Journeyman being in the list and thinking about his role as Dan Vasser I was kind of…well…surprised. As well as surprised to find out about the show’s cancellation; silly NBC.

I’m here for Journeyman. I’m sure if any Journeyman fan had known about going to TV IV web site to nominate the cast they would have. I would have if I had known.

in the uk it had a not too bad slot main channel sky one ten oclock
it was brill and set the series timer after the first episode

production costs etc etc

Journeyman was one of the best shows yet. I guess tv executives know better than we do what we like to watch or this show would still be on the air!

Please bring back Journeyman!!!!! If NBC doesnt want it then another channel needs to pick it up. I think that the people have spoken on plenty of different website poles. Everyone wants it back. NBC needs to wake up and start reading everyone’s opinions on this show and listen to what the PEOPLE want. Not what they think they should do with the show.

I’m with Jay . . . Journeyman is so awesome, that I would pay for it every week. It kept your attention from the first minute to the always satisfying conclusion of Dan’s weekly assignment. In today’s muck of reality TV shows and Caveman-mentality shows (don’t EVEN get me started about that), it was an absolute delight to finally have an intelligent show that was entertaining and required an adult attention span. NBC didn’t give it enough time, and they just yanked it away. Please, please, please bring back Journeyman, NBC!! You can clearly see how many fans it has. What the hell else do you have? My Dad Can Beat Up Your Dad or whatever it is!!?? Come on . . . give us something we want, and desperately need!! Bring home Journeyman!!

Just wanted to drop a line to all of you who support the return of Journeyman and say, “Stick with it!”. I was one of the Jericho Rangers who sent nuts to NBC. That worked beautifully and Journeyman has a chance as well.
There’s nothing more in the way of praise that I can offer. I will say that Journeyman is the most intelligently written program to come along in years. The scene where Dan digs up his back patio to prove to his wife that he’s tarvelling is unforgetable.
Never underestimate the power of the web! Just look what it did to Dan Rather.

Another plea to bring Journeyman back! I mostly watched on-line but was addicted just the same. I can’t stomach the reality tv or lame game shows it all makes me click OFF the TV and pick up a good book. But Journeyman had me clicking it on when I could or watching on-line it - was that good.

I do so miss Jouneyman too. Seems to be the consensus here. It was such a great and well made drama. I watch Psych every Friday and like it a lot, but it really isn’t in the same ballpark as Journeyman or the other shows that were nominated. I agree that Kevin McKidd nominated should have been nominated for best actor. He really shined in that role.

I join the thousands and thousands of fans who are suffering withdrawal since the last episode of Journeyman. Thankfully, we can stream the episodes, and there are many sites, which are growing in number, that give us a forum to try to convince NBC that this is a literal gold mine, if they’d bring it back and promote it correctly.
HANG IN THERE, JM fans!! And do whatever you can to help, please..

I guess I will add my voice to the mob of Journeyman fans begging for its return. The final episode is the last thing I have recorded on my Tivo. There is just nothing else worth watching these days. Also I am surprised that Kevin Mckidd was not nominated for best actor, without him the show would not have been nearly as good. Please, save this show!

This is more proof in the fact NBC was hasty in dismissing Journeyman.
What happens when a great show that has been poorly supported by its network garners awards and fanfare? We can only wait and see, but it seems pretty dumb to me that this show is still not running.
Think of being able to advertise a show on your network as an award winner and fan favorite?

Still pleading for NBC to recognize their mistake and bring back a show that is actually worth watching, JOURNEYMAN. NBC is losing my business. Heroes is entertaining, but the screenwrite and storyline are a C- at best.
NBC, Journeyman is what the people want!
